JSOX Compliance

JSOX vs SOX

J-SOX is the Japanese regulatory compliance standards whose objectives are similar to those of the Sarbanes Oxley Act evaluation and auditing standards for internal control for financial reports SOX Compliance standards in the United States. J-SOX requirements are derived from the Japanese Financial Instruments and Exchange Law. Like the management certification requirements of SOX Section 302 which requires that the periodic statutory financial reports are to include certifications of disclosure in the companies' quarterly and annual reports, JSOX compliance requires an evaluation by management based on an internal control framework including an evaluation of a company's internal controls, an assessment of process level controls and an external auditor opinion on management's evaluation of the effectiveness of internal controls. Management evaluation and report on internal controls are similar to those of the Sarbanes Oxley Act Section 404 requirements in that management must evaluate internal controls that have a significant impact on the financial reports of the company.
